Can you walk a rabbit?

I was just wondering if I could walk my rabbit on a harness?

It is not a good idea to walk a rabbit outside. There are many dangers. You could meet a stray dog, and people spray chemicals on their lawn. I knew someone who put their rabbit on a leash and took the rabbit to a park, where the rabbit ate a poisonous plant. Rabbits are more difficult to train to walk on a leash than a dog.

I'm not sure about walking a rabbit. Rabbits are prey animals and they can hear things that we can't. The sounds from outside can scare them. Tugging the leash can hurt the rabbit because they are so fragile.

I have a couple of rabbits that are leash trained with a H style cat harness. They learned it in agility class, but I would never take them outside. Before the pandemic, I took rabbits to long-term care facilities for visits. My rabbits would sit on laps of the elderly, but they don't interact much, so presentation was everything. One rabbit I would walk down the hall on a leash and go from room to room. I had another rabbit I used that wasn't leash trained and I put him in a pet stroller, which is much like a baby buggy. The buggy worked better than the leash.

Like Niomi and HoppyRabbits06 said, there's too many dangers honestly. If you are really wanting to take your bun outside for a little bit, definitely invest in a pet stroller that's what I did!

Not outside , inside and in my garden

Plus risk of RHVD2 now. I think the majority of them don't like it anyways. I've read several times that it's rare.

So he can run around freely

If it's inside I wouldn't even put your bun through the stress of a harness, and as for the garden, I wouldn't. There's a lot of different diseases and such a rabbit can get even in a garden.

I would just start slowly training him without a harness to free roam, like start slow and make sure to rabbit proof your home first

He's worn a harness before and it doesn't stress him .
I'm sorry for being rude , no animals come in my garden here in the uk

You aren't being rude! Even if animals don't go in your garden, there's many other pesticides and such that can easily make their way in! Just better to be safe than sorry! I just personally wouldn't, but it's your bun! And as for the bedroom free roam, ABSOLUTELY! My female bun is free roam in my bedroom she sleeps with me everynight, wakes me up with so many kisses and tucks in her blanket next to me at night, it's truly amazing, it could be a wonderful experience for you and your bun!

If you want to walk your rabbit inside, the best place to practice is a hallway. Rabbits don't walk by your side like a dog. Put your rabbit in front and kind of "herd" your rabbit down the hall. If your rabbit just sits there and you want the rabbit to go, bend down and tickle the tail or hind legs. Never scare your rabbit or force your rabbit to move by pulling on the leash.

That they do! It stinks that where I live, they won't give buns the vaccine until it hits our area. I understand to a point but I wanna be safe and have them get their vaccines BEFORE it hits this area

Yes it's here
