I am new to this forum and am in need of guidance. I adopted 2 buns last year. 4 YO mini lionhead (Twinkie) and his 2nd bonded mate 2 YO mini lop (Pancakes). They had been together 2 years. We had to put our poor little Pancakes down today and could not bring her home for him to spend time with her.
It is breaking my heart watching him search for her. My question: Do I wash her blankets so he cant smell her or leave them to comfort him?

Welcome! I'm so sorry you're joining for this reason! I would leave them out today to comfort him, but then remove them tomorrow. I would put a stuffed animal in there too. Go ahead and be looking at rescues for another rabbit to bond him with.

After reading a few posts on this sad subject I did give him a stuffed animal on her blanket. Since he didn't get to say goodbye to her i don't want to introduce another too soon. Thoughts on how i will know he is ready?

Also, he has cataracts so doesn't see very well. Pancakes was his seeing eye rabbit. He finds his way around by smell and sound. If I wash everything I am afraid he wont find his way around very well. I have made sure everything stays in the same place.

I didn't mean to get another rabbit tomorrow, but in a month or 2, you should consider it. And in his case, I would leave everything out for about a week, just so he can "see".
