Wait a month, and then bond them. If they were bonded before there is a high chance that the bond was broken.

I have them seperated in two different cages and only want can play in the playpen at once to exercise, play, etc. Is it safe for them to see each other daily or should I put one of them in another room.

No, it is fine for them to see each other as long as they can't get to each other. Putting their caged 6 inches apart can help you get a head start on the bonding process! Below is a great video for bonding!
