I just noticed that my female bun was licking the bottle of a leaking cleaning product (I only noticed after, that it was leaking). She didnt ingest a lot (I hope) but I am really worried now.

How much cleaning product is exactly dangerous, like if she licks it, does it mean she is already poisoned? How much time after ingestion do the symptoms occur? I want to take her to the vet as soon as there are visible symptoms. And also what are some common symptoms?

My apologies as this is my first post here and I haven't introduced myself properly yet, but it is important to take her to the vet as soon as possible, before any symptoms develop, as it will mean that the potential poison has already been absorbed and has caused damage.

Might be helpful to know what the actual product is.
You should also be able to pull up that products MSDS online.

I looked it up, and it says "do not ingest, if ingested, wash out mouth with water". (If this is what you meant)
She seems normal, she is drinking so.. does that mean she's fine? Or will she stop drinking after a while because of the poison?

You still havent told anyone what this cleaning product actually is.

And no thats not what a MSDS is. Google your products name with that word or Material Safety Data Sheet.

This is something where you should have been phoning poison control prior to the forum.

Call the poison control number on the bottle of the cleaning product your rabbit ingested. It’s best to get help right away before symptoms become very noticeable. If they become very noticeable it may be too late to do anything to help your bunny and the damage may already be done. Keep cleaning products in cabinets away from and out of reach of pets and children at all times. The poison control center will give you instructions as to how to get help to have the best possible outcome. Most times it’s free to give them a call.

Yes, tell them exactly what happened and then ask poison control what they advise for you should do next to help your bunny.
