It was born 12/15/19. The mom had 3 one was still born. Other one just gave up She refused to feed them. I didn’t know she was having babies and had them under my daughters bed I have cats that don’t bother with the rabbits but I think he spooked her so I have been feeding the only one that’s left. It was doing so good in till 3 days ago it stop taking 2 feeding (6 ml 2x day) and only eating 3 ml once a day and today it was so weak I forced feed it and it’s doing a little better I ordered oxbow emergency care apple and banana flavor it should be here Friday or Saturday the latest should I thin the product a lot to give it to him/ her Is their anything I can give besides the goat milk? I love this little guy or girl The mom is a Californian and dad is a Lionshead 5E8CAF12-9790-48EE-9BDE-E54366091ACF.jpegBCE0A271-2E49-4C5F-AE92-1C9B24DB8B37.jpeg

Are you giving it cecotropes from the mom? The kit needs them to develop a good digestive system.

Cecotrops? I think normal poo contains all the bacteria needed anyway. Also, how would you harvest cecotrops from a doe?

Anyway, good luck with the little one :)

Yes I also order some off amazon it should be here tomorrow just in case. She will clean her just not feed her. Tonight she took 6 ml do I am happy I am used chickens I am going to call around to get prices on getting her fixed and mr winkles It’s too stressful when it comes to the feeding I am so afraid it’s going to get in her lungs and the heating pad shuts off every 2 hours I also used rice in a sock and warmed in the microwave Her sleeping space is covered in fleece

I somewhat doubt that, since I can't remember seeing a single one for ages.

Did You Know?
Rabbits are foraging herbivores, eating mostly grass and weeds. But this fibrous, cellulose rich diet isn’t the easiest to digest, and by the time their dinner has make it through their intestines it still contains many of the nutrients the bunnies need.

Rabbits and hares beat this problem with a special kind of digestion called hindgut fermentation. In short, they eat their own poop and digest it a second time. Bunnies actually make two different kinds of droppings: little black round ones and softer black ones known as cecotropes that are eaten. This process is known as coprophagy, and functions the same as cows chewing their cud.

It’s very important for a rabbit’s digestive system to keep moving fluidly, as they need to re-ingest their cecotropes in order to get the nutrients they need. If anything gets stuck in a bunny’s esophagus or intestines, they’re out of luck, since they’re incapable of vomiting.

Of course I know that, but my rabbits don't overproduce them and none go uneaten. Thart's why I wonder why kits should be fed cecos. The necessary bacteria are in normal poop anyway, and they need very little of it, just licking it would do since it's about bacteria, not nutrients.
Some colostrum should be given to Kits that never got fed by the doe at the start though.
