Hi, I accidentally ordered a huge bag of Oxbow Young Rabbit food for our 3 adult bunnies. Usually I get Oxbow Adult Rabbit Food. I am not sure what to do. Is it ok for them to eat?
Thank you.

Hi, what age are your rabbits and are they under/over/normal weight?

Main difference between YOUNG RABBIT and ADULT RABBIT pellets is that YOUNG RABBIT is based on alfalfa meal and ADULT RABBIT on timothy hay so YOUNG RABBIT would suit if they are under one year old or underweighted or nursing otherwise it would be too rich for them.

But I think you can use it just make portions smaller than recommended and make sure they are getting unlimited timothy hay or other hay just dry food is only about 5% of daily ration so if you cut portions maybe they won't put on weight.

Or if it's still unopened you can try contacting seller and explain your situation some sellers are quite nice especially to their loyal customers and might be able to help you or you can advertise it on your local online board or ebay or somewhere maybe in your local rabbit club and sell it and order adult pellets. Or donate to your local rescue or petstore.

Here's ingredients of both and analysis you can see that young rabbit has more fat and protein and adult more fibre but both have high fibre (recommended fibre is min 19%), also young rabbit has more calcium.

I think normal weight, and ages are 4 - 7 years old. Two are dwarfs and one is a big California rabbit. They eat oat grass, unlimited. I get it by the bale. My daughter is allergic to alfalfa.
