hi guys! So about 2 weeks ago my 11 week old baby Peach was dealing with a serious constipation issue which has since gone away. But the day* before I go out of town and leave her in someone else’s care she springs another health problem on me. She has been drinking and peeing WAY too much, to the point where her back feet and rear end sometimes get super wet. I contacted breeder and she thinks it’s a UTI. I also called vet and she didn’t seem that concerned but said I can bring in a urine sample tomorrow. Other than this peeing thing she’s eating/pooping/acting completely normally.

Peach is literally the angel of my life and I’m a crazy person when it comes to her health and have convinced myself she’s going through kidney failure or something. Im like tempted to ask the vet to run blood work tomorrow but I’m also afraid that if I put Peach through that she would get so stressed out that she wouldn’t eat at the boarder (also the vet literally never said she thought I needed to). Am I being way too paranoid? Or like should I ask the vet to do X-rays if those aren’t super invasive?

Any advice is much appreciated.

My rabbit had bloodwork was done and it's super simple. My vet just found a vein on her ear and drew from there. It only took a minute once we got it to give any and she stood still the whole time and after she acted as nothing had even happened. She was not stressed at all.

Urine soaked bottom when the rabbit is in a clean environment and not sitting in its own pee, is usually going to be a UTI and/or bladder calcium build up. If you aren't seeing thick creamy or gritty urine, then it's likely a UTI. You would know if a round of antibiotics (smz tmp, baytril) clears it up, or you could have the urine tested to know for sure.

I’m not seeing any weird thick urine/ she’s not like in pain when she pees. Like if anything she just does these huge clear pees... just dropped urine off at vet that I collected with a syringe at home so I’m really really hoping the pee isn’t too old and it’s just a lil UTI! Thank you for the response:)
