She is 5 months old, weighs 3.8 pounds, blue eyes. Sweet and friendly, doesn’t mind being picked up, cuddled, and carried.

She is mixed breed probably, has VM gene I can't tell more unfortunately, but think that her cage looks too small for her. I wouldn't use puppy pads as well as rabbits can chew them and get a blockage from plastic

I figured she’s mixed but I thought there might be guesses as to which breeds, like with dogs you can normally tell which breeds are in them, I guess it doesn’t work that way with rabbits! Yeah the cage in the photos was definitely way too small. She was only in that for a couple days as emergency housing, I was not prepared when I got her. She’s in a much larger cage now with a plastic bottom and no puppy pads.

I'll start with cute. We had 2 mixes at different times that looked similar--VM gene in there but we could never be sure. We even had one with VM markings and Black Otter and his eyes were really remarkable, one 1/3 blue and 2/3 brown and the other was 1/3 brown and 2/3 blue--both eyes had 2 colors.

What does it mean if they have VM gene?

It means that the bunny carry one gene that codes for blue eyes white bunnies. If your bunny breeds with a bunny that have VM gene or a bunny with BEW there a chance for BEW kits to be born.

Because it needs to be a pair of VM genes to get BEW bunnies. A bunny breed with BEW with only BEW in its background and the other colored bunny will get VM genes bunnies.

Sometimes VM genes won’t be active in the bunnies and you can’t see them. Other times they will be active and can be easily seen on them.

Myself have 2 VM marked bunnies one of them are a mix. But I know he have holland lop in him while the rest are a mystery.

Your bunny it’s really cute but sometimes it’s hard knowing what breeds there are in mixes. If they don’t have any distinct character like looped ear or rex fur.
