Hello everyone

So, this is my first time as a rabbit owner and have no idea what is happening. Maybe this is normal, maybe i've traumatized my bun?

Here's how it goes: I'm spending some weeks at my mom's because I'm sick and needed some help, sucks am i right. The point is, i brought my pets along and here my rabbit stays in the balcony (it's an apartment balcony, closed as a room).

Yesterday, i had to put him back in the balcony after letting him roam for an hour or so, because he somehow dropped a bag full of things i just bought and was about to chew on them. I got angry at him and tried to pick him up to put him back.

He ran away and i chased him. He thumped several times and i never got to pick him up, i just left him be because he was obviously getting stressed with being chased.

My mom eventually put him back later at night. When i entered the balcony today to say hello, he made noises to me like he was afraid of me, like a little cry, two times, and "digged" me. Then he let me per him normally but he still makes the noise and "digs" me from time to time as this morning. He seems aggressive. He has never made any noises and i didnt even know he was capable of it. He's also aggressive towards the cats. His body and movements seem healthy as well as his feeding, urine and poo.

Is he angry at me? I never meant him any harm. I feel so guilty. I give him all of my love and i still feel like i failed him. Please help me understand guys! Thanks in advance

He's at the age when hormones kick in. Hormones can cause all kinds of behavioral changes from general grumpiness, to growling/grunting, lunging, biting, aggression, forgetting potty habits, excessive destructive chewing and even spraying urine. This is simply what hormones can do. Sometimes those behaviors become permanent if he isn't neutered sooner than later.

I wouldn't take his behavior as a reaction to you so much (though the move could certainly be stress-causing) but moreso likely do to increasing hormones. Time to look into what's involved with getting him neutered.

Thank you so much for the information. Im definitely looking into getting him neutered asap. I'm glad its not all my fault although i did learn a lot about his limits and that's gonna be taken into consideration whenever we interact.

It could be some animal is getting near the balcony and scaring your rabbit, and so causing this change of behavior.

It could also just be being in a new place. Change of environment can be unsettling for some rabbits.
