Started pooping on couch

Jasper is litter trained. The other day. I left the room for a few minutes and bunny was on top of couch, peed and dropped a large amount of poops. He usually doesn't jump on couch. I'm thinking he was upset with me for leaving him in pen longer than usual? I spend alot of time on floor playing with him when I let him roam. I sat on couch and ignored him to watch a show shortly after opening cage. Is this a behavior for males before neutering? He is 5 months Netherland dwarf.

Yes, he’s most likely marking/claiming it as his because it’s a new area to him. All of my rabbits did that and spaying/neutering stopped it. After spaying/neutering them it only happened again while trying to bond or if I accidentally leave another rabbits toy out.
