My mini rex has white feet and as a result, they get stained yellow. How can I prevent this/clean it? His litter box does not have a grate so if anyone has any options, his litter box is 12 by 8 inches.

I had the same issue. My rabbit always had the whitest feet (even the vet commented on how white they were) until I bonded him with a rabbit that’s is a lot more messy than him. She would throw hay everywhere and it would stain his feet. I use Exquisite cat paper litter from Petsmart. I also made them a hay feeder that prevents the female from throwing hay everywhere and now his feet are white again. I was told a vinegar and water mixture would get rid of the stains but after I fixed the hay situation the stains went away on their own eventually. Hope this helps.

What litter do you use? I use wood pellets and happy with them, I also keep hay separatly from toilet box, not for all my rabbits, but some of them (girls) also messing with hay so I find it better to use only wood pellets and some straw sometimes. I had grates for Bernie and Smokey as they like digging their litter boxes, I used kitchen metal cutlery trays removed inserts ant they worked fine, now they are better I don't know why but they still like digging their boxes but don't make too much mess around so I just let them do it. Bernie especially constantly reorganise her box, moving wet pellets on one side and makes place for herself she wants to lay in there but just on plastic, then moves everything to another side, I am not sure why but there's no more mess around her box so I just let her do what she likes. Her feet are spotlessly clean she's a very tidy girl. Smokey (in my avatar) is not so good she uses her litter box but also can pee outside of it sometimes and lay in there so sometimes I have to clean her with baby wipes. Hopefully she'll get better after spaying, fingers crossed.

My baby rabbits when I got them had yellow feet. They had this because their cage was lined with hay. You can use a good type of litter in the litter box and a hay rack, and make sure that it is a good size so the hay is properly contained in the rack.
