hi guys, so I posted the other day about my bunny’s breathing seeming too heavy and deep. I have a vet appointment for tomorrow morning but have been really freaked out all day and was wondering if anyone has gone thru what I have been with constipation. So the past 2 mornings, from about 9-3 my bunny will not poop, and if she does they’re the ones she’s supposed to eat. She’ll eat a bit of hay and critical care but that’s it. Her tummy will be pretty swollen and shell just kind of sit in one place. I’ve been giving her simethecone, and syringing water and a bit of fresh pineapple juice. Then suddenly 3 pm hits and she goes back to normal I kid you not. Running around, eating hay, flopping, and doing completely normal round circular poops. When I massage her stomach really deeply though I kind of still feel little balls even though she’s eating and pooping completely normally. What should I expect at the vet tomorrow? I am literally praying for them to give me motility meds and tell me it’s gas or she has pastuerella or something. I’m absolutely terrified of needing X-rays and it being something I can’t fix. If it were a blockage or something she wouldn’t be eating and pooping so normally right????

I would say that now that she is fine it must have been gas beings you were giving her simethicone drops. Props to you that you knew exactly what to do and were prepared before you could get to a vet! :) Pasteurella would not cause symptoms like this, symptoms of Pasteurella are a wet nose, noisy breathing, and sneezing. (Not talking about your other thread). The vet should to a check-up, and just have you watch her to make sure she doesn't do it again. I doubt that they will do Xrays as she is back to normal unless he/she sees another need to do so.

Thank you for the response. I have literally been so panicked the past 48 hours because Peach is a literal angel—I am so completely in love and I don’t know what I would do if I lost her

If it's always happening around the same time then I would suggest trying to figure out if there is a link to something she is being fed beforehand, maybe even several hours before. It could be the pellets, veggies, treats, or even hay if it's spoiled or has weeds in it.
