My bunny Loki just discovered that he likes banana. I gave him a 1/4 of a slice to try 3 days in a row and his tummy seemed to handle it fine. How much banana can he have and how often?

Banana is a treat, so it should be limited to about a 1" slice max per day. This assumes bunny is fine with it. Some may not do well if given that amount every single day. So you may not want to offer it every day. Also, that amount would max his treat quota for the day so that means no other type of treats on that same day.

Bananas are treats. I've always cut off the ends of the banana when I have one and give them to Nelson. Very small bites but he eats them skin and all. Well, except the stem, he leaves that alone. Nelson also gets the core of apples and pears which I remove the seeds from. All these treats are infrequent and smallish portions.

As a treat, you can give your pet rabbit fruits which can include bananas, apples, cherries, apricots, plums, pineapples, mangoes and berries. These are just some of the limited and safe choices of fruits that you can feed your pet bunnies, but as a precaution, it is best to ask your veterinarian first before feeding other kinds of fruits that are not mentioned. Banana peels are practically safe too for your pet rabbit, but feeding them with these sparingly is essential.

As a farmer I can tell you from experience be careful with any kind of peels due to preservatives put on them now.... I have animals that used to eat everything and now turn their heads up..so, in a bunnies sake..wash the peel
