Bunnies not chewing...

I recently adopted two dwarf bunnies (10 days ago) and they have not chewed on anything. I do not know their age but they are likely about a year old. They seem very comfortable in their room and not too scared to come out and play. I have plenty of different wood/straw toys and apple sticks and cardboard things. I spent a fortune on a wide variety of toys lol... I had bunnies as a child and remember them destroying toys in a matter of a day so I am surprised by this. They are eating hay and their veggies normally though so is there any reason to be worried? Thanks!!

I wouldn't worry, as long as they are eating and drinking ok then they most likely don't have any teeth problems that would keep them from chewing on things. Some rabbits just aren't much of chewers. Also since you just got them give them time to adapt to their new environment. They will get more comfortable and there personality's will also become more obvious like if they like to toss or chew toys. Congrats on the new bunnies!

Rabbits on a proper diet really just chew non-food objects because it's something interesting to do. Good hay with long strands (as opposed to stuff that's been compressed or chopped) requires rabbits to chew in a certain figure-8 fashion that wears down all their teeth properly, assuming they're eating enough of it. I gave up on providing actual chew-toys years ago because they always went ignored (other than cardboard boxes, they do love those) and the only dental issue I've ever had from 7 rabbits in 7 years is Nala getting molar spurs last summer. She turned 7 around the end of May/start of June and as a senior bun is presumably eating less, which I suspect is how her teeth got overgrown. I've since switched to orchard grass (which has a sandpapery texture that makes it the best hay for wearing down teeth) and so far, she's doing great. There's absolutely no reason to worry about them not chewing on toys as long as they're chowing down on hay .
