So, I have two bonded buns Lionel and Lisa and a single Male called Clive.
We got Lionel and Clive together before we knew much about rabbits (yes I know) and after an initial baby bond and some horrendous fights they have been living apart. Lionel and Lisa are happily bonded and live together and Clive is in the same room but has his own massive hutch. I let the pair out for half the day to have complete free roam of their room and my landing and the same goes for Clive but obviously I can’t let them out all together.
However when I do let Clive out he spends a lot of time sitting outside Lionel and Lisa’s pen licking the bars, flopping and just staring at them. Is he lonely? Or is he still able to socialise with them and fill the lonely void even though he can’t physically access them both?
I’m thinking of adopting another female bun and bonding her with Clive. Tbh I have my hands full with the 3 of them but I just want what’s best for him? Any advice? Could he actually be happy alone? Does the company of Lionel and Lisa count even though they are behind the bars?

Thanks in advance x

I am not entirely sure but I'm assuming that for a bunny, being in the company of other bunnies is not as fulfilling to them if they're not bonded.
I am actually in the similar position as I am trying to bond my female, with my male, but feel bad as my other female is alone.
I initially had two baby girls (Pip and Munch) but they had a falling out and cannot stand each other since, even after being spayed. Pip seemed to be okay by herself and is always playing and running around, whereas Munch seemed to be lonely.
Even though Pip does not seem to be lonely, I still feel a bit bad and would like to adopt another boy when I move house in the next year or so, and have more space for another bun.
I've heard that sometimes introducing a third bun can affect an existing bond so personally, I wouldn't want to risk that, but I guess it is up to whether you have want a trio or two couples. Sorry if that's not much help - I've never tried to bond three rabbits so it's probably better to get advice from someone that has!

Are they all fixed? How long ago if so

They are all fixed, the boys about 5 months ago and the girl she is a lot older so I’m guessing about 4
Years ago.

The boys do not get along at all so I’m not going to risk upsetting the bond between Lionel and Lisa by trying to bring Clive into the mix especially as he tried to kill Lionel s few months ago... blood everywhere was horrible.

I used to think Clive seemed content on his own he’s very active but lately he gets jealous when I give the others attention and nips me gently as if to say hey they have each other love me instead and my gut feeling I’m getting is that he could do with a friend now.
