Hi,

We’ve had Oreo since he was 1 (we adopted him when his previous mummy got bored of him ), and he’s now coming up for 3. Having scoured the internet I cannot figure out what breed he is! He’s fairly big (around 3.5kg/8lb), his ears are mainly upright but he gets lazy and alternates which ear to have down, has gorgeous markings and mid length fur! Please help!

Jessica (And Oreo)

Myself own a lop mix but a holland lop mix, but his ears are always down except when he get curious. One ear will rise up and stand straight up ^^

Mixed breeds are hard to determine what other breeds they have [emoji5]

My late Mr. Rabbit had similar fur to yours and he had Lionhead in him. He was definitely a mix, had medium length fur and super soft/fluffy.

With the large ears maybe part Flemish? Those ears look VERY big! I have lionhead crosses but most have some long hair around their neck and/or between the ears, etc. I can't see that in these pictures but, not to say he isn't.

The head and large ears indicate flemish giant. Sometimes flemish do just get lazy sometimes and like to hang their ears down. But he is mixed with something smaller I'm not sure with what though

Thank you! I agree and think his fur is too short for part lionhead - although it’s slightly on the longer side, it’s consistent all over (except the gorgeous super soft bits behind the ears)!

That’s interesting, and makes sense as a vet said she suspected he was mixed with a giant breed somewhere along the way. Thanks for your help! It doesn’t matter really I guess I just would love to have more info on his background and any inherent characteristics or ways I can cater to his preferences... yes he is a very very spoilt bunny

Defiantly an English spot lop mix or lop Rex mix! Super cute and happy you took him in!

he is so cute! i myself have no idea what breed my rabbit is. i got her from another family who said she was a netherland dwarf (which i highly highly doubt is true). she’s around 5lbs, uptight ears, any guesses?

Judging by her head shape I would guess that she had a bit of Netherland dwarf in her but definitely not pure bred, I’m in a similar situation with one of my rabbits who was meant to be a netherland dwarf but other than her size she has no obvious ND characteristics so I’m just going off my own research but I would agree that she looks like she might be part magpie harlequin. There’s always the possibility that her size is due to her being crossed with a false dwarf ND

i never even thought about her being a ND mix. i wish there was some type of DNA test for bunnies lol

Ye I can see bits and bobs in her but I have no idea what else I’ve asked people on here before and they said they haven’t seen anything like her before so I’m not really any closer
