Bunny acting weird - please respond ASAP

Hunny is a 5 month old lop/dwarf.


I came home after spending time with a friend, brushed my bun (hated it and jumped out of my arms but seemed fine enough). Aftee that, I went to get some water. I came back in and Hunny was gone. I suddenly hear her running and freaking out back to her cage (from outside my room, in living room). She waa freaked out. Then, ran out of the cage, and darted under my desk and pressed herself into a corner. Thumped over and over, and was panicked and upset and breathing fast. Usually, if shes scared, her first place to feel safe is her cage and her plate she loves to flop out on. But she seemed terrified of her cage (it's a big pen not cage) and ran out and kept darting to my desk and thumping over and over. I sat with her, stroked her fur, but nothing. I cleared the area of her cage, and pet her in. Shes sstill upset and pressed into a corner, on her plate.

Shes gotten scared before, but nothing to this degree. This was pure terror. This happened around 12:30am and shes cleaned herself a few times, took a timid bite of some pellets, ate lile a bite if hay, but that's it. She won't move from that spot, and hasnt gone near the litterbox and hasnr peed or pooped at all. And it's now 3:00am. I'm really scared and anxious and have cried twice.

Maybe I'm being dramatic, but im rlly freaked out and would love any advice and anything anyone could offer. Please help me. I'm panicked and cant sleeo and jusy feel awful. I'd appreciate anything at this point.

I'd get her to the vet as soon as possible.

It could have been anything. She could have gotten a foot caught and that scared her. Or I've even heard of some rabbits getting completely freaked out when they saw a spider. I would just spend time comforting her and eventually she should calm down and get back to normal.

Is it possible you had picked up an unfamiliar scent while you were out? Occasionally my female will get freaked out when I come into my room. It's usually because she saw the cat or one of the dogs when my door opened.

Ignore my first post about getting her to the vet. I didn't read all of the way through before I posted. The only reason you should get her to the vet would be if she had hurt herself while she was freaked out.

She did calm down, thankfully! It took a full day and a half, bit she's much better. Yeah, I have no clue what she saw, but dang. She skidaddled like it was a monster!

This was my first thought, but it was debunked when I realized she didnt freak out until she went outside my room. I had been home for over thirty minutes and she had been fine until then. So weird! She must have seen a dust bunny, or a shadow or something like that. Thankfully shes okay now! Took a full day and a half but shes acting much more lile herself and even ate and drank finally! Thanks for the advice!
