So my rabbit has been acting off lately. I don’t know if it’s because I changed his room around or if he doesn’t feel good? He’s bee sleeping a lot, his nose has been pink and seems to keep laying on his tummy or all sprawled out. He’s eating fine. I noticed his pops get smaller which freaked me out so I gave him a TINY bit of meds to get his tummy flowing just Incase it was slowing down. He seems to not want to drink his water from his bowl which is annoying. He will drink it out of a syringe which makes no sense but ok. He’s running around, ate pellets and hay just fine. Is he just enjoying himself laying out flat ? I listened to his stomach and I think it sounds fine. He hasn’t had any temperatures or any nasal discharge. He didn’t have a lot of hay for one day because I was gone could that have been it ? His poos are moist and firm. (I’m a EXTREMELY over paranoid rabbit mom and I have anxiety which makes it worse so I freak out about everything and I really just need reassurance) @Jess&Thumper

If bunny is eating and pooping he shouldn’t have stasis. Moist poos could be a sign of too much protein in the diet though, so try to feed more hay and less pellets. syringe feed water to make sure everything gets moving properly and watch bunny closely :) if bunny stops eating at any point, call a vet or take bunny in to the vet to be examined.

I personally think he had a little slow down of his GI tract but you gave him meds in time for it not to be bad. If your bunny is used to seeing and being with you they may have become stressed since you were not there that one day and also changing their cadge may have put some stress on them too. Bunnies can be particular animals (it really depends on their own personalities too since each rabbit is different). Get your bunny on a good regular schedule should help them not be stressed and if your gone for the day have someone look after them and follow that usual schedule. But really anything can cause tummy troubles since they are sensitive animals. A good schedule will be very helpful. It’s also good to keep “simethicone baby gas drops” on hand incase if GI stasis or gas problems occur. Continue feeding your bunny water through the syringe. It’s crucial they are hydrated. Give them lots of hay and fewer food pellets. It’s good that you are observant and monitor your bunny like you do. Your bunny has a good mom.

Thank you!! He finally drank water on his own! This morning his poos were still a little small so I gave him more meds(which he’s happy about because he love medication) . He’s definitely very active and feisty this morning so I can tell he’s feeling better. I will definitely get back on a routine. I am home all day because I do online high school so maybe he’s still getting used to the new routine since I wasn’t home all day a lot over the summer. I agree they do react to change! I have metacam, gas drops , metoclopramide at home for him. He is pellet and food OBSESSED and eats so fast :| so I try not to give him a lot of pellets, he hasn’t had any veggies in a while so maybe that’s a factor !— Thank you guys so much I really appreciate everyone who has helped me on this website! Have a nice day everyone ❤️ @Maki_p29 @cosmoluna

Any particular reason why you don't feed your rabbit leafy greens regularly??

Our local super markets veggies are always bad or sold out ! No matter what they’re always slimy and brown. So we like to get them from Whole Foods but it’s a ways away. What are safe veggies to feed daily ? I’m always scared things I see online aren’t correct. I normally feed cilantro, green or red leaf lettuce and Romaine . I’ll be out that way today so I want to pick some up since my rabbit doesn’t want to drink his water again.
