Hello guys. My bunny teddy has been on an all hay diet for at least 4-5 months. Ever since then, she has been really skinny. So I thought that I should move her back to pellet to let her gain a little more. So, I moved her slowly to pellets but when I did..I noticed that she's been avying different. ...in a good way I guess. She never every use to do binkies, but now all of a sudden she is WAY more active. She runs EVERYWHERE. I also notice that her poops are a little smaller. Should I be concerned??? Is she ok?

Was there a reason your rabbit was taken off pellets?

When my rabbit got to be a "chunky bun", as my vet called him, she only suggested limiting his pellets to a cup a day, and switching over to timothy pellets as they're meant to be healthier. Seems odd your bun would be taken off them altogether for such a long time.

You can just decrease the pellets amount a little but still giving pellets. Some bunnies need pellets to keep their weight up and be healthy.

Most of my bunnies get pellets but they get different amount of pellets. Based on their droppings and weight, your bun sounds healthy and only need a little decrease on pellets to get big hay filled droppings again ^^
