i took my bunny to the vet because I could tell he didn’t feel good. They gave him fluids and me two medications . I’m going to pick up some pedialyte . I’m going to order some critical care also. What else should I have on hand if this turns to something worse? I’m cutting back on pellets and giving him cucumbers and celery. Im terrified of him getting really sick. Any tips are absolutely appreciated.

I always keep a stash of "emergency hay", narrowleaf plantain, stinging nettles, apple leaves, butterbur, dandelion. That's for times when I can't get the stuff fresh, or when they show little interest in the fresh stuff.

Also, a bottle of Simethicone (baby gas drops) is always in stock, along with kitchen oatmeal. The oatmeal is easy to digest, and good stuff to administer the Simethicone.

I also try to get them moving when I suspect tummy problems.

I noticed his teeth/cheeks grinding and he’s been laying around , not active , just not himself. He’s still eating, and pooping but it’s dryer. The vet checked him all out and said he’s dehydrated, and his stomach is “squishy feeling” so they gave him fluids, they gave me metacam and metoclopramide . She said he’s definitely uncomfortable.

I will pick up some gas drops! Does anyone know what type of pedialyte they can have ?

I’m surprised the Vet didn’t provide you with critical care. I’ve seen clear Pedialight at Walgreens in the baby section. Try to see if your bunny will eat Timothy Hay. Don’t give them any fruits and vegetables while they are having tummy troubles. Try to take them out of their cadge often for movement to encourage their digestive track. Also comfort and pet them. Try giving them water with just a touch of organic apple juice( 1 parts apple juice to 7 parts water mixed in a bowl or their bottle *if it’s in their bottle be sure to clean it daily)to encourage them to drink more to be hydrated. I hope your bunny recovers! They should get better with the critical care, Timothy Hay and hydration. If they seem worse or not any better call the Vet. Best wishes!!

Thanks! @Maki_p29 He’s been eating hay like crazy!! More than usual, his poops are perfect and he’s eating fine but is still uncomfortable! I’m not sure what to do, I’m giving him pain medication but I ordered critical care. I didn’t know not to give him veggies so I’ll stop! I’m not sure what’s going on, he has a huge room al lot himself and it’s bunny proofed so I can’t think he’s gotten into anything. I hate to see him uncomfortable.
