Hello,
1-year-old Doe, Storm (Big Bunny) has always breathed somewhat loudly and heavily (her nose) and she sounds very stuffy. As I posted shortly after getting her as an 8-week-old baby, she tends to sneeze a little, has been to the vet twice and they always cleared her by saying her lungs are good, teeth are great, has no signs of infection and is an overall healthy bunny. She is half Mini Rex, half Rex and weighs 7 lbs, likes to lie down a lot, was a bit underweight for a while but loves to eat. When she whines or grunts at Oreo (another female) or a new bunny, her "voice" sounds very stuffy and a bit deep, rather than high-pitched like Oreo's. I am worried about spaying her in fear that she secretly has breathing problems.
I briefly spoke to the vet today when they were treating Gary, and they said that is usually a sign of dental issues or a nasal deformity? Her teeth are perfect; she has always eaten tons of hay and destroyed lots of things to grind down her teeth, and I got her from a decent breeder, so I doubt she is inbred. Are nasal deformities common? Storm is my absolute favorite bunny and I want to spay her soon, or would hate for her to randomly pass from an underlying issue.
