So I have two holland lops that before this incident we’re perfectly happy with me and my dog (who would never ever hurt them) coming out to feed them and give them exercise. But one of my neighbors dogs keeps getting out and barking and scratching at the hutch which is so frustrating. And now my bunnies are so super jumpy. Any tips on getting them used to my own dog again?

Is it possible for them to be moved inside?

A loud, barking dog is terrifying to a rabbit, especially when it's digging at their enclosure. Have you tried asking your neighbor to keep their dog away from the hutch?

Sadly they can’t come inside. My parents are very against it. I have talked to my neighbors and there not going to let it happen again. I just want my buns and my dog to be friends again like they used to be.

I would gradually start introducing your rabbits to your dog again, by letting them smell a blanket with your dog's scent on it. From there, you can begin letting them see the dog (maybe just bringing the dog out near the hutch and petting the dog because if the rabbits trust you and they see you with the dog, they'll begin to trust it again). Once they seem comfortable being in the dog's presence, you can start introducing them face to face.

Thanks so much!
