I got my 10 week old rabbit just under a week ago, she's been letting me pet her for 2 days, has been showing all classic signs she's happy then today she has licked me! Over the moon at how well she is settling in.

She is a house bunny with full roam of the house, when I'm not in she has her cage withing a pen, just until she's fully toilet trained and I'm confident I have my flat completely rabbit proofed.

For tips, as she's young I haven't been giving her treats as I've been advised not to, but I have been mimicking her actions, sitting her on me and petting her just before letting her have run of the flat, grooming her every other day.

I recently cut her nails and was scared this would make her scared of me, and she was, but as soon as she noticed she was no longer catching on the carpet she loved it.

Any advice on how to further bond with my bunny, I've been researching, but a lot of it doesn't match her personality as she's a dwarf and a little more skiddish than other breeds.

I’m no expert on dwarfs but with my Holland lops I’ve had them almost a year and one of them has only just started showing clear signs of a bond to me as she is very skittish and uncertain. Regular grooming is a very good way to strengthen a bond. If you let it come to you before you go to it that’s a good way of letting it be trusting of you. Regular petting. Also don’t rush things it may take a while for a good bond to show. Hope any of this helps.

I’ve always owned dwarf bunnies, just recently expanding to own giants. But I always have a netherland dwarf in my house.

You can use pellets as treats or petting depends on what your bunny likes. You can just spend a lot of time with her. Myself often just layed in the bed while have watching movie or studying while my netherland dwarf jumped around me.

I couldn’t give unlimited pellets to my netherland dwarf because he would only eat pellets and not hay. Some bunnies do that, so I balanced his diet on how his droppings looked like.

But you will only need to spend time and earn your bunny trust. Be glad your bunny opened up so fast, took me 1 month for my bunny to stop running away from me and start being close. Later I always had my bunny with me, so he got used with meeting new people, dogs, being in a travel cage for many hours and moving between different houses only getting a temporary housing. But my netherland dwarf bunny love people, not the most cuddly one because of the energy sprout he is. But specific times of the day, he will want to snuggle up in my arms and fall asleep.

So keep on being with your bunny, later when you can give treats, you can teach your bunny tricks, share food and so on.

Just want to know how big mines gunna get as she's so tiny

My netherland dwarf weight 700 grams (nearly 2 lb) , he’s overweight for his size but here’s a picture on him compared with my hand :3

My dwarf bunny is 2 years and I own another one that’s 1 year he’s a little bigger around 1,7 kg (3 lb, 11 oz)

Okay this has nothing to do with the thread but Holland's are dwarfs unless you got a false dwarf
