I have read a lot online about rabbit bonding but I wanted to see if anyone had any specific tips for my bunny situation.
My first bunny, named Cabby, came to live with us when he was 4 months old and he has been free roam. He is very bonded with my husband and I and is always a very friendly rabbit to every human he has encountered and is super active. If a rabbit could have ADHD, he would have it. He is litter box trained and neutered and when we are not at home or sleeping he stays in the guest room. Besides those times, he can hop around wherever. He will be two years old next month.
We recently rescued another bunny whom we named Cinnabun. We do not know how old she is and she is not spayed although the guess is somewhere around 2 years. We plan on getting her spayed soon. When she came to us she was very sick but now after almost two months she is so much happier and healthier. We have litter box trained her and we keep her in a different bedroom. The bunnies switch bedrooms every two nights and they take turns running around in the rest of the apartment. We got our second bunny a week before moving apartments. This was on purpose because we thought the neutral territory of the new apartment would help with the bonding because Cabby has been literally everywhere.
Ok, sorry for such a long introduction. We have been doing bunny dates in the bathroom (which was neutral when we moved into the new apartment) and lets just say its not going well. We have tried lots of different things but Cabby is so aggressive! I thought maybe Cinnabun would be the aggressive one because she is not spayed but Cabby is just awful. He chases her and nips out her fur and Cinnabun is terrified of him. Separating them with a plastic folder when he attacks doesnt seem to do much good because it is constant. One thing we do that goes well is put one bunny in the shower (which as a glass door) and the other bunny outside the shower. That way they can see each other but have the barrier of the glass door. Cabby doesnt try to attack her through the glass but that doesnt say much. Sometimes we also open the door a crack so their noses can touch and then we give them both head pets. This goes well about 75% of the time.
My questions-
Even though Cabby is the aggressive one, will it make a difference after Cinnabun is spayed?
Do you think it is a lost cause because Cabby is so aggressive even in the neutral new apartment?
Any tips for bunny dates? I have tried a lot of things and dont really want to list them all out but maybe one of you has an idea that I havent tried?

. Poor Cinnabun was left shaking in a corner once we caught him. It just breaks my heart because Cabby has always been so incredibly sweet.
