Hey all, so I’ve been posting about how awesome my bunnies have been doing together, and they really seem to be, they snuggle, they groom each other, they always do everything together. But when brushing Piper a couple days ago I noticed a pretty deep cut in her side. Im assuming it was from a fight that I missed between them. It looks to be healing up ok, and she is super active and binkying and eating and pooping and peeing all like normal. I never would have thought anything was wrong if I didn’t come across it. I figured no vet visit was needed but I wonder if there’s anything I could be doing to help speed her healing? Would it be best to take her to the vet anyway?

Here’s a pic, it’s about the size of a dime:

I haven’t seen them fight at all so I’m really shocked this happened, but I can’t think of any other way it would be possible. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

As long as it isn't deep and doesn't go through to the layer underneath(which would require stitches) I would just keep an eye on it and maybe put a thin layer of plain(no added pain relief) triple antibiotic ointment(neosporin) a few times a day, at a time when they are both distracted(like with food) so it doesn't get groomed off immediately.

Thanks Jbun! I have been keeping an eye on it and putting polysporin on it when I can (she’s not a fan of that) it appears to be healing slowly but surely.
