Well, I didn't expect that, always associated sore hocks with Rex and wire cages. But a week ago there were bloody footprints throughout the house...

Vet gave me an ointment, and suggested to cover the floor of his cage with newspaper. He doesn't have a cage of any kind and isn't very fond of that concept, to say the least, so I started to cover the whole house floor with carpet, sheets, rags and cardboard.

Next step is to buy fence to keep him off the asphalt when he's outside, I'm pretty sure that is the main culprit since he does miles every single day following Dotty around. It's going to get hot the next days, so they'll stay in the house anyway.
And I'll try to sew socks from elastic bandage, although it isn't easy to put the ointment on, getting the socks on him will be interesting.

Now I'll try to wash his feet thoroughly, there are little lumps of matted fur there, and little pig doesn't mind what he steps into when outside.

Rex and mini Rex are predisposed to sore hocks and isn’t dependent on wire flooring. Carpet can do it, too, because it creates friction when the rabbit is moving around.
