Once I got home my bun was acting perfectly fine, very active as I let her out of her pin. She was hoping around and being her usual self while I cleaned up her pen area. I replaced her water, cleaned out litter box and refilled her hay. Swept around and gave her a 2 pieces of dried banana and pineapple. (They're super tiny pieces, like half inch bits) She was still her normal self, hopping around me and the room while I cleaned. A couple hours pass and I decided to go take a shower. I put her back in her pin so she wouldn't chew on anything she wasn't supposed to. Came back from showering she was still fine. She stretched her legs, and hopped around a bit in her pin.

Then she sneezed twice, about 10 minutes apart from each other. Then an hour later she sneezed a few times, and went into her hide to lay down (Like she was trying to get something out of her nose). She made a few guinea pigs noises, and became very calm. I sat right next to her and took her out of her hut and she made more squeaking noises, since I didn't want to stress her out I put her back immediately. I put a blanket in her pin so make her more comfortable and the guinea pigs noises stopped. I left her pellets and tried to go to sleep (I get up for work at 530am, and work 10hr shifts)

I woke up about 3 times to check on her and her breathing was a bit heavy.
Oh I forgot to mention I checked her eyes and nose for any discharge or crusts and there where none. I checked multiple times throughout the night also. She was in her pen and she drank water, and she was eating her hay, but not her pellets. She still wasn't super active, but she was out of her hut and sitting out in her pin and her poops were normal and she was peeing in her litter box. Her breathing was the same as in It seems like there is something in her nose or throat that she was trying to get out. Her temperature was normal, not hot or cold.

I did get a new bag of Oxbow Hay and the first thing I noticed was it was a lot dustier than normal. I think she might be having an allergy or she might be sick. Maybe a piece of hay got stuck?

She is a 3.5 months old and a holland lop. The sweetest and such a tough girl. I just hope there isn't anything really bad going on. My boyfriend's sister is going to check on her while im at work and update me, and my boyfriend will be taking her to the vet MONDAY asap. Giving she is still acting strange.

Any insight on maybe what could be wrong would be extremely helpful. I know we aren't vets but this forum has been extremely helpful to all of us, even on any suggestions. I am worried, and I slept awful. Thank you.

I think that too, that maybe a piece of hay is stuck in her nose, throat, or mouth. As long as she is continuing to eat and drink pretty normally, then I would just wait until Monday like you said, and if she is still acting abnormally, take her to the vet. The pellets, they don't happen to be a brand new bag do they? Also the hay, double check it to make sure there are no black/white spots, that there isn't a white dust on it, and that it doesn't smell sour or musty(signs of mold, which would be very bad).

Thank you for the response. The pellets are from the original bag that shes been eating from since I got her at 6 weeks, but I will check just to be sure nothing is odd with them. I can't believe I didn't check the hay for that, I will see if i find anything abnormal with the hay also. Thank you again.

If you've been feeding the bag of pellets a while, then it probably wouldn't be the problem. Though do check the pellets for any signs of mold as well. Since you live somewhere with humidity, it can affect the food and cause mold growth even if there wasn't any originally. And yeah, check the hay to make sure it's not bad. If the hay is fine then I would guess it's a piece of hay stuck somewhere, causing irritation. But if you have any doubts about the pellets being bad, better to not feed those and get a whole new bag. Moldy food is a serious concern with rabbits, as it can have dire consequences if it occurs and is consumed by the rabbit.
