Rescued 4 rabbits from a woman that couldn’t look after them anymore. Best way to litter train them? 2 girls two boys, we put girls in bathroom so they’re separate from boys, they have a little tray, I pick up poop all the time but they’re not picking it up.

The boys are in a cage and go free roam when I get home from work, but again they don’t get it, even though I pick poop up all the time.

Help?

Stray poops will happen even with a fully litter trained rabbit. If they are peeing in certain places, wipe it up with a paper towel and put it in the bottom of the litter box, this way they will soon get the idea that that is where they are supposed to go. And spray the place where they were going with vinegar to get rid of the urine smell, If possible. Try putting the litter box where they like to go. Also. spaying and neutering will help tremendously. How old are they?

I would not give them too much space for the first week or even longer, when they manage to use the litter box in their cage I would expand their area. If you give them a whole room to start with they have no incentive to use the litter box. In a rather restricted area, that they accept as their place it's more likely that they chose to always use the same spot.

Stray bunny berries will occur anyway, at least with females neutering might help. Are any of the rabbits neutered/spayed an´d what's their age? Were they together in this constellation before?
