Hi. My 8 month girl lop had to be taken to the vets a couple of days ago due to her front foot got shut in door by accident so she had to have a claw taken out and pain meds. Which now I have to give her pain meds and antibiotics just in case of infection but every time I go to get her to give her meds she grunts really loud and attacks me so it’s making it really difficult to do her meds. I feel I’ve done something wrong and completely scared her and made her aggressive as she’s also going for my daughter and our other bunny. Don’t know what to do so need some advice

She's probably in pain and in shock. When her foot's healed, her behavior should go back to normal. Try to let her know you aren't a threat by respecting her.

Also, does she like the meds? If so, you could just let her lick it off the syringe as opposed to forcing it into her mouth.

Some bunnies HATE getting meds, and can get really grumpy about it, especially if the antibiotic is baytril which most buns detest. I would try doing a bunny burrito where you wrap bun in a towel so bun doesn't get wiggly or combative. It should make the process a little easier and protect you from your bun attacking.

I would also make sure your daughter and other bun aren't directly around right after you give the meds so your bun doesn't associate their presence with being medicated. She may dislike you for the time while she is getting the meds, but once you are done giving them you should be able to build your relationship back up.

One thing to try while you are still having to give meds is after giving them spend some one on one time with her in a smaller area so she can't run too far away from you(pen, bathroom, etc), and I would offer some of her favorite things like veggies, treats, fun activities, to try and get her to associate the medication process with something good and that she likes, and also help her realize that you are still the good guy and she can trust you. If she is feeling particularly grumpy, you may want to wear protective clothing for this one on one bonding time :p
