Neutered Rabbit Humping

Hi all,

I have a netherland dwarf that has been neutered since January 23 this year, it's going to be 9 weeks tomorrow. I also have a female lop with 5 week old babies who are separated in a play pen. When I go home to let them out and hop around his area she immediately goes up to him and they'll start mounting eachother! I figure the Lop does this for dominance but why is my Dwarf still getting horny? I can tell that he's not doing it dominantly... And to make things worse now that the babies are getting bigger he's started to circle and mount them too! I never imagined this. Otherwise he's completely chill. He stopped spraying which is what I was mainly hoping for but how long should I anticipate him to stop wanting to him his wife and the kids???

He acts just as excited as he did before he got neutered. When my female approaches him he'll circle her, mount her, and he'll build up a ton of energy and then starts humping anything, his teddy, slippers (the babies if they're around now...) it doesn't really matter what it is and his little 'rocket' comes out too... I don't refer this to being dominant because Ginger, my female, will mount my Dwarf in a very aggressive way... and ONLY Silver (dwarf). But I guess i'm no expert I only have these two guys to dictate this behaviour from!

Are we still talking about rabbits here!

But yeah, sometimes if they have already learned the behaviour of humping before the surgery, they can still carry on doing it even once the hormonal drive has dissipated.

It really depends and I agree with you Popsicles. I know we're talking about males, but I had female that was spayed and she was really aggressive before, but yeah she would hump arm and dig at me. It seems with females love to dig more on fabrics. Lets stay on the thread of males.
