Mom and son

I know that it's ok to breed mother to son. My question is; if they are never separated, will she go into heat? I'm guessing yes, but there are no signs yet. There is a gap between their sides of the cage where he jumps through. He is approximately 5 months old and they still curl up together at night and he rarely stays on his side of the cage. I want to breed them because he has perfect Dutch markings in a tan color instead of black and hoping to get more like him. Just not yet.

Rabbits don't really go into heat. They are induced ovulators so the act of breeding can make her ovulate. If you don't want kits now separate them a.s.a.p. and don't be surprised if she is already pregnant.
Also, Dutch don't come in a 'tan color'. They come in tortoise and gold but gold is unrecognized and unshowable. Please do research before you breed. Often pet or mixed breed rabbits that have Dutch markings have the vienna gene and not dutch gene, which can came from many breeds (not just Dutch) and is responsible for BEW - and also very hard to breed out of lines and undesirable in most show breeding programs.

Yeah doing tons of research would be best. Just make sure it is a useful breeding and not an irresponsible one.
