One of my rabbits have started to lose weight, I can easily feel her rib cage and spine.

She eat a lot of hay, always have hay available for her, get 1/2 dl pellets in the morning and she do her business as a healthy bun. But her weight aren’t the best.

She’s a 5 year old french lop bun and I worry about her.

What can I give to her which will help her keep her weight, she love food and it’s the same happy bunny.

dear herelin,--if you would like to enhance what you are already doing,--start a daily chart,- weighing a few times a day{-metric scale}-watch for a marked decrease in day poops, try different grasses-ie.timothy,orchard-quality pellets,greens,-dental is a main concern-misaligned,or overgrown teeth will decrease appetite..make sure she gets her cecotropes{night poops}-to keep the gitract flora stable..and if needed call an exotic dvm for facial xray{dental}--exam,--lots to know about rabbits,--sincerely james waller for joseph r cottontail/bdenium rip

Her diet haven’t change and her droppings have never been better. I always keep watch on her eating habbit because she often get problem with the stomach.

But the recent month her stomach have been good but she it’s quite thin. She weight almost 9 lbs and she need to get a little meat on her. Don’t know how much she weighted in the summer but she have become much easier picking up and she dosen’t feel heavy anymore.

It have started to get colder outside and she have started to shed to her winter fur now.

Going to take my rabbits to the vet next week for check up and trimming their claws.

Your vet should do a fecal test to check for worms. A French lop doe should be at least 11 lbs so it sounds like she is a bit underweight.
This was a perfect answer, you should take the rabbit to the vet.

If you’re going to the vet I’d ask them to test for worms. Sometimes the test doesn’t work though so I’d recommend you check her poo for the next few days and see if there is worms. If there is you can buy this wormer called Panacur it always works for me.
