Something's wrong.. Bunster neve rthumps but last night I was woken up to her thumping. I saw the light in the living room was on so I turned it off. It seemed to stop the thumping. But this morning I saw her in her pen and she didn't come out to greet me which was strange. Instead she thumped. This morning.. she was still thumping and wouldn't eat pellets, but ate basil I offered.

She has a new robot feeder but that has been there for at least a day or two now. could it be that? She had no problem with it before, what's going on?

I did feed her a bunch of these herby treats yesterday they're kind of like grass/flower buds, and I see cecos on the wall which is really weird..

I took out the robot and she's still thumping nonstop.

Thumping is usually just a sign of danger...is she spayed? Some un neutered rabbits thump when they want to breed. Is she eating normally yet, and have you tried giving her hay?

Hi there, in an effort to figure out what was wrong.. closed all the windows (there were dogs barking outside.. but again this usually doesn't bother her..) and
I mixed in some banana with cc cause i got scared of possible stasis cause she was refusing pellets earlier ... She ate the banana (i've never given her banana before so hopefully it goes down ok) .. still seemed to be on high alert and freaking out about everything, I tried to check her tummy and she ran into her house and started thumping at me which she has never done... anyhow after she calmed down she ate pellets and hay again and she seems to be a little closer to her normal self, grooming and sprawling out, but still not so affectionate with me. thankfully she's eating normally again..I hope it's just a one time fit and not some new behavior she's picked up because I could not sleep last night it is so loud T_T

She's not spayed yet, and about 6 months old. She's never behaved like this before and I wonder if it's because there were a lot of changes in the past few days, or if she can sense that we're about to go on a trip. We've never gone on a trip since we've gotten her and we'll be gone for a few days.

Rabbits thump for a few reasons.
If she sees a mouse in the house or a cat outside, this could cause her to thump. I would try covering her cage at night and see if that helps. She might also hear strange sounds that could cause her to thump to alert you to danger.

My bunny once thumped in the night to alert me to someone trying to break it. His thumping woke me up and because of that, I turned all the lights on and scared the robber away.
He has also thumped at me many times over the years to show me his displeasure in something I have done. Sometimes he thumps because he is dreaming, snoring and wakes up suddenly. When he was much younger, he would get jealous when my friends would come over and he would start thumping.
Rabbits can be moody little things! Who knows what really goes on in their little minds :)
My boy never likes bedtime and always gives me a defiant tail wag as he hops into his cage... This is after he's run away from me, circled me honking or gone limp in protest so I cant move him. He pulls out all his tricks when its time for bed.

Thanks all, since that incident Bunster has not thumped again to my knowledge which is a huge relief.
