hello i got my bunny from pakistan a place where there is little regard for pets like bunnies so i practically rescued him from living in a little cage in a hot marketplace. however, he has patches of hair all over his body and i dont know what to do. I have checked around my city , lahore to see if there are any exotic vets but vets here laugh at you if you keep bunnies for pets. ‘they are to be eaten, not kept’. one responded. please help, willing to do anything.

He could have mites. If so you would need to find ivermectin or Revolution/Stronghold(selamectin) to treat the mites. If you have dog/cat vets there, you may be able to get it from them. Dosage for rabbits for ivermectin is 0.4mg/per kg of body weight, for 3 treatments 10-14 days apart. You need to make sure it's dosed out correctly depending on the concentration of the solution, as an over dose can be deadly. It's usually a very small amount, less than 0.1ml(one tenth) for a 5 lb rabbit using a 10mg/ml solution.

For the Revolution(selamectin) it is applied topically between the shoulders, and that dose is 18mg/kg, for one treatment.
