My bunny, squirrel, was diagnosed back in May with a a head tilt. With medication it subsided but about 2 weeks ago she began falling over again. I took her back to vet and they found an ear infection in the opposite ear of the direction of her previous head tilt so they put her back on medication. A few days later I noticed it her falling more and it seemed as though her back legs were paralyzed so I took her back in. The vet said the infection was only going to be remedied with putting her under anesthesia and manually removing the build up. That was done and a culture was taken. I just got the results back and she has pseudomonas fluorescens which is resistant to all the antibiotics they tried on it besides an injectable antibiotic (timenten) which he said he had no experience with giving to rabbits and would have to do research on. Does anyone have experience with this bacteria, this is absolutely breaking mine and my son’s hearts

Wow, so sorry. :( @JBun might know something about this.

I'm not aware of that type of bacteria affecting rabbits, just pseudomonas aeruginosa, and there isn't really info that I could find on that particular bacteria in relation to rabbits. But if you want to look at the medical info about the usual pseudomonas bacteria affecting rabbits, here's the link. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. That seems like a very rare infection to occur in rabbits. I hope you are able to find a treatment that is helpful to your bun.

This is what I found: Pseudomonas fluorescens is a ubiquitous Gram-negative bacterium frequently encountered in the environment. Naturally resistant to a wide range of antibiotics and disinfectants, this bacterium is commonly found in hospitals as a contaminant of cleaning solutions and even injectable material.

I also couldn't find any relation to rabbits. I couldn't find anything on that medication either.
Is your vet rabbit savvy? Have they checked your rabbit for E Cuniculi? I'm so sorry you are going through this!!!
