New bunny mummy here only had him 4wks.
A day ago I saw this on my 6month old lops left ear. He lets me touch it & 20180526_200641.jpg 20180526_200707.jpg 20180526_200725.jpg 20180526_200731.jpg 20180526_200707.jpg doesn't flinch or anything, so assuming it isn't painful? It feels & looks like a scab & Google hasn't been any help. He doesn't have anything else on any part of his ears. We have a vets appointment nxt wk for 2nd inoculation, do I wait till then to ask or shall I take him in asap?
What could it possible be?

A bug bite? Any other animals in the house that could have bitten it? Or could he have possibly gotten it snagged on something?

Thanks for replying. We have no other animals in the house so can't be that. He is free to roam whilst we're home but if he'd of snagged it, wouldn't I have seen blood on his ear before it scabbed? As I've never had a rabbit before I worry about it. Maybe I'll just keep an eye on it and if get larger take him to vets? Just don't know what to do for the best x

Yeah it could be from scratching too hard or catching on something. You wouldn’t necessarily see blood - my rabbit once managed to tear her whole dew claw off and leave it on the floor without a speck of blood in sight!
If it’s scabbed up that’s a good thing as it means it’s healing, so yeah keep an eye out for any swelling or redness, or any more wounds, but for now you could just keep an eye on it if it isn’t bothering him. If you’re really worried you can take him to the Vets but it doesn’t look awful.

Wow you'd expect blood to be everywhere if tore a claw out. I'm learning bunny are truly amazing.
There's no change in size or shape this morning and there's no redness or swelling around it. We are at vets nxt wk for 2nd vaccination so will mention it to her then if nothing changes before then. Thank you for your advice as see on your profile your a student vet so gives me peace of mind. As first time bunny mummy it's like been a first time mum all over again but without the lack of sleep lol x

I know haha, they’re a marvel! That’s good sign then, hopefully it will start to clear up before you even have your appointment. No problem! Haha I feel you there, except I do still suffer the lack of sleep being woken for breakfast at 5am every day! It’s good to see you’re researching everything properly, that’s what makes a good bunny mummy :) good luck and keep us updated!
