Bunster is getting to the age where he's starting to .. err.. destroy things. I had put some cardboard pieces and tubes in his pen before, and they were relatively untouched until yesterday! This morning I woke up to find cardboard pieces on the pen floor. He also kept digging and digging in random places (on a bed sheet..) in the X-pen, and some rather forceful biting that he used to only reserve for our carpet. I've heard of people making digging boxes for their buns? Does anybody here do that? I wonder how you would be able to make sure it doesn't look like a litter box lol.

I have a lot of cardboard boxes/tunnel type things in his x-pen and a phone book... but doesn't seem to satisfy the digging instinct.

I took a cardboard box and shredded plain paper. (No ink) and put a few toys inside too! I even made some holes and put wooden chew toys through them ........ and every time she starts digging at the couch, etc. I put her head down and put her in her box. I think she's learning.......... it's still a work in progress

Bunster has been going crazy digging at my shirt lately.. X_X It's driving me nuts. I just put a bunch of paper in a box but seems he has no interest.. I don't know I think it might be the sound it makes. X_X

@lavendertealatte My bunny will dig my clothes/me if I am not giving her enough attention and cuddles, so it could be related to that! I also do the shredded paper idea that @Dandelion mentioned, and I like the idea of added chew toys! I know some people provide sandboxes, but there is no i way I want to consider that kind of mess, even if I know she’d love it.

See that's what I keep hearing Popsicles, but when I pet him he runs off!!! So it's not that X_X He won't sit still for any sort of cuddles. I think it could be that he wants pellets. He will lick me.. scratch at my clothes...and bite. But if I start petting him he'll hop away.

When you guys are talking shredded paper, are you talking about the stuff that you'd find in a literal shredder? Cause now that I think about it, that makes more sense. I shredded some paper by hand but it doesn't have like a sandbox sort of feel cause the pieces are so big lol. I also gave Bunster a phonebook cause I heard other bunnies like that, but Bunster's not really interested. He just wants to dig at the floor.

haha:D all of your posts sounds like what i go thru with my bunnies. My little girl rabbit (1year old) loves to shred everything with her teeth and lil claws: cardboard, paper, willow toys, wooden toys, blankets, and carpet when i let her loose around the house. She will do that for hours!! really loudly too. I think its just how she is, after shes done shredding the cardboard boxes and whatnot she likes to put it in this little pile like shes making bedding. Its really cute that she makes her little bed out of her toys :D
My little boy rabbit (2 years old) watches her do that and has started to pick that up. He tears apart his stuffed toys a bit and blankets too! He likes to bunny flop after on his blanket. I think the girl is more destructive than he is. :)
