I need toy suggestions.. My rabbit is getting bored with her old toys.. she has a ball and a treat dispensing ball but she is getting bored... Are bird toys okay??

I follow several rabbit-related Twitter accounts, but I really love Best4Bunny.

They recently shared this link, which has some suggestions for do-it-yourself toys that you can make. Hopefully these can also serve as inspiration for other variations or new toys that you invent yourself!

I plan to try this one myself soon:

We recently bought a "4-way tunnel" made mainly for cats, but the buns love it.

Here is Kimchi popping up from the middle, for a little peek-a-boo (with Ellie in the background):

The main thing we have found, is to periodically change up the toys they have available, once they begin to tire of playing with them. You can't just give them toys and expect that they will be forever entertained by them; similar to children, they will play with toys for a while and eventually grow bored with them.

Unlike some kids, you can in fact hide the rabbit's toys away for a while (replace them with others) and then bring them out again after a couple/few weeks. Suddenly what was old, is new again. :) Good luck!

There was a thread on here titled "cardboard castles". I take several boxes of plain cardboard(no plastic laminate pictures) and nest them together in one big box with holes cut from both ends to allow access across and even make two or three levels with a hole in the top of one connecting to the next level--had one that was 4 stories. My bunnies love playing/chewing for hours My Checkered giant, almost 20 pounds loved getting up on top which put her at eye level with me on the tallest one.

Nancy, question for you - I want to make a multi-level box castle/house, but I am at a loss as to how to make "stairs" or whatever between the levels. It sounds like you solved this with a simple hole to allow them to go up/down through. Is that right?
