I'm planning adopting another rabbit later this year (probably in the fall), ideally I'd like it to be a friend for Sadie my netherland. The problem is, I was planning on adopting a larger rabbit, perhaps a french angora, or flemish giant.
How big, is too big of a friend for a netherland dwarf? I've never had a rabbit as small as my Sadie, I've only had large rabbits. There are so many restrictions I've had to deal with concerning a rabbit of Sadie's size; for instance she can't be in certain parts of the house, and she can't run loose unsupervised. All my large rabbits were loose most of the time as they wouldn't hide under the fridge like Sadie, or try and climb up onto the counters (Sadie is a mountaineer).
I will not be breeding her to a large rabbit and they will have their spaces (side by side), I just want to know if the size ratio would be to much for her during play time? Or if I should just keep her separated from whatever rabbit I get?
Suggestions my bunny friends.

As long as both rabbits are fixed, size makes no difference with bonding. It is up to each rabbit, however, whether or not they will accept a particular rabbit.

Flemishes are known as super sweet rabbits =
but i would not at all put them in a cage togther as long as the big one has space he will be able to not be bugged by your small one

I was planning on housing them separately. I just wanted to make sure they would get along ok, and that the size difference wouldn't be a problem.

Hmmm... a little confused on that statement. Rabbits should either be bonded or kept separate. They don't do 'occasional friend' type stuff.

They can be bonded, in which case they spend all of their time together, share the same cage and even go to the vets together (even if only one is ill).

OR they can be housed separately, in which case they stay apart, don't 'play' together (which may turn into a fight at any time) and then, of course, it makes no difference if they "get along" or not.

With rabbits, it's all or nothing. Either they are bonded or they are kept totally separate.

the size should not be a prob just as long as they have space to be alone and get away from each other:wiggle( make sure their the same gender ive heard of plenty people bying girl and girl and 1 mounth later have babies)http://cdn.rabbitsonline.net/images/smilies/wiggle.gif
