Can't stop Simba sleeping in his litter box

Hello, I can't stop Simba from sleeping in his litter box where he poops and pees. He has several bedding but he refused to sleep or lay on them. Is this normal behavior?

I've only owned three rabbits and none of them slept in their litter boxes. Rabbits like hay, and I've seen my rabbits sit in their litter boxes for lengthy times, but never fall asleep. For my rabbits, one reason may be is that their litter boxes are too short to stretch out and sleep.

All three of my buns sleep in their litter boxes. Mind you they et changed every day and there is usually nothing but fresh hay in it as I give them handfuls of fresh hay throughout the day in it.
My buns are EXTRA weird and will only eat hay if it's in their litter pans.

As long as the pans are cleaned regularly I don't see any harm in them chilling out in there.

you sometimes just need to let animals make the choices they make and then work around how to make it a healthier choice. Sleep on Simba!

Did you take your rabbit in recently? Rabbits feel safer surrounded by their own smell - when a rabbit is in an unfamiliar environment or when they feel stressed or ill, it is not uncommon for them to sleep in their litter box. So, either your rabbit still isn't used to his new home, either (if you've owned him for a long time) he's just easily stressed and feels more relaxed in his litter box.
In Strax case, it's probably just because they understood where the room service was and they decided to become lazy XD.

If you are concerned about the litter box soiling him, then just be sure to keep hay on top of the litter. I refresh the hay in our litter box twice per day. If that is done, even if bunny sleeps in the box, he won't be getting soiled or smelly.
