If you had the option to repurpose this, what would you do with it? As it stands, I have one rabbit, with another to potentially bond, and the hutch would go in my office where the hutch would be open during the day for free roaming. I have this cabinet sitting here in my dining room and I've never been terribly fond of it. Ideas?

I also have the opportunity for an armoire, so we'll see..

Hi rescuemom. Id build a ramp or removable stairs up the center. Id strip the color and then leave it plain or matt eurothane (spel?) or a paint that fits with its surroundings. Id carefully remove the glass and replace it with hardware cloth, carefully finished at the edges with, say, nontoxic trim. Ive seen really pretty repurp'd bunnyhomes on pinterest and i dont know if painting is a health hazard to our litter chewers. Could finish exposed parts and then wrap in bubble wrap or cardboard when bunns are out.
Inside, id build a multifloor plan with maybe tunnels or ramps across in some places. Pinterest is free and there are lots of inventive ideas there. I subscribe and drool!
Have fun. Wish i could join you!

It looks like a nice piece of furniture to me, possibly antique or maybe reproduction mission oak. I would sell it and use the profits to buy or make a NIC cage or buy a nice big dog crate and exercise pen.

I currently am using an exercise pen, and I honestly don't care for how much space it takes up, when I could put my rabbit in a multi-level cage that goes up instead. They are in my office, and take up 50% of it currently with an x-pen.

Wow that's going to be nice! Can't wait to see the finished product.
