Hello.
We have 2 bunnies, buttons who is 1 and a half and belle is 2 and a half. Belle was rescued a few months ago and since arriving she has never eaten her cecotropes, or at least not all of them. It started with just a few each day but now it's about 8-10 each day. The main difficulty with this is that they have free roam of our spare bedroom, and she does them everywhere, so the room is turning into a stinking pit as she does them all during the day while we're at work and they run around squishing them into the carpet.
We've tried various things with diet, stripping it right back to hay then slowly introducing herbs then greens and some pellets. Nothing has made a difference and the vet has looked at her and said everything seems fine. She eats really well.
I'm at a complete loss of what to do, I just can't have that mess in my house but I also don't want to have to limit their space again. The only option I can think is to build them a run and space to live in our garage but we've always enjoyed having them in the house to be able to spend time with them every day. My husband and I end up arguing over it too because he thinks I'm making a huge fuss but the room is beginning to smell like a farm even though we pick up the poos asap and clean up the carpet (which is ruined obv).
