I've experienced a number of practitioners who will willingly see any species, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're all keeping up on their continuing education for those species. The fact that he chose an antibiotic other than Baytril shows he knows a little something (I've had vets tell me that's the only one you can use, and as a student it's hard for me to work out the professional way to suggest otherwise). Nothing you've shared has been anything particularly risky to your rabbit, but in this day and age veterinary medicine is moving towards pain meds for these sorts of procedures.

I hope Jodi has recovered well. She's probably to the stir crazy point if you are still keeping her confined. My bun just got her freedom back last week following the 2 week confinement after her spay, and the first thing she did was hop right up to the top level of her condo and start to furiously shred paper and dig in her dig box. It was pretty funny :)

Yes! Jodi is recovering well. My son has let her out after a week in spite of my insisting that she not be let out for closer to two weeks. He has his own home, and he's 22 so he still butts heads with me on occasion. I'm usually right though and I pray that I'm not for Jodi's sake. I was able to make him promise that he would only let her on the carpeted area in his living room and to MAKE ABSOLUTELY sure that she did not visit the hard floors (for fear that her feet would slip out and she'd bust the incision). She's eating like a champ though, chomping hay and salad and she's back on her pellets. I'm actually about to go to his home and give her a good check over. It's been a couple of days since I've been over. I thought that maybe since I'm the evil one that boxed her and she's been shy of me since, a couple of days and she might forget how evil I am. Only...bunnies never do forget do they...
