Anyone have any preference over bucks or doe? I want a friendly laid back bun so have picked a buck but I can pick a doe if needed. I know each has their own personality but I'm just wondering in a more general term?

Now that I've had experience with both, I can honestly say I couldn't choose between the two. My son's little girl bun jovi is just as laid back as my English lop buck, but they are two different personalities. He is a super friendly boy that likes to be held and acts like a little dog. Jovi does not like to be picked up, but she does like to be held on the floor, and she does love her petting. My buck is a lot stinkier, but he is still intact until next month. One thing I will say though is that my buck has never bitten me, and Jovi has taken her nips a couple of times. She is a little moodier. They are both sweet and lovable, just different. To add, she is a Holland Lop and he is a large breed rabbit and large breeds tend to be a little more on the laid back side.

Hi there, thanks so much for your reply. Your buns sound lovely and such great names. I think I should stick with my male as he did attract me straight away given his unusual markings.

We have 14 rabbits. 5does and 9 bucks. Of course every rabbit has it's own personality and traits to their breed but overall I have found bucks to be easier to deal with. They aren't aggressive with us and don't bite while the females can be this way if not altered.

Unless you nuter a buck then I would suggest a doe. Even though a doe is more active and territorial , a buck will spray and spray with you with pee. From my experience I would pick a doe.
