I want to buy a Flemish because I heard they got big, so searched up some pictures and found this. Do they really get this big?!ImageUploadedByRabbit Forum1405117036.344529.jpg

No. Thats a perspective shot and Im sure some more tricks were involved. I'm just a Flemish lover with two of my own, and Ive read a lot about them but Im no expert. However saying that, my two weigh 17lb and 16lb respectively and are big but not that big. Breeders I've spoken to may have had a few 20lb before, but larger then that is considered abnormal. Some standards in Europe, Continental's or some such are descendant from Flemish and may get large as well, but still in the 20lb range if that.

Now to put my two fairly big rabbits in perspective; they're bigger then most house cats, about the size of a smaller medium size dog like a Collie. They're a bit tricky to lift but since I'm 6'3 its not an issue, however my wife struggles a bit at times. I love my rabbits.

Continental giants can get really big but 20 lbs max is all I've heard for a Flemish. Still that's a good size for a rabbit.

Oh and by the way, my brother owns a wild rabbit, he caught it as a baby, so anyway would they get along?
