It wpuld go bad before you could use it all. I have 5 rabbits an two skinnys and my box is almost empty and its been 3 months

Depends on the size of your rabbit, what other foods you feed, and the amount that goes to waste. A 50 lb bale lasts me a month. That's for 10 rabbits that weight 35 lbs altogether, so about 1.5 lbs of hay, per pound of rabbit., per month That includes a bit of hay peed on, not eaten, and wasted. I also feed a small amount of pellets and veggies. Generally you can plan on feeding around 1-2 lbs of hay, per lb of rabbit, per month. That's just approximate and will vary with each rabbit.

It will not go bad before you use it all. As long as you are feeding every day or so, it should last a year to a year and a half. I have one rabbit and I get 45 pounds of hay for her. It will last her a year to year and a half. If you store the hay in a spot that it won't get wet or moldy, it should be fine for a year or so. The one reason hay goes bad is because it gets wet, moldy, or not stored correctly, and it isn't fresh. Fresh hay can last a long time. I bought hay online and it is still fresh.

I wouldn want to feed my rabbits hay thats a year old. It does get a bit stale after a few months I find, and I keep mine in an open bag inside a cardboard box with lots of air flow, in a dry dark
Area. The bottom of the bale is always less fresh 4 months later
