So here are some pics of our 1 day old kits, mum did a great job but left all her fur pulling to the very last minute, total of 4 babies, One is really big, two equal size and the skinny runt/peanut, can someone please tell me if they think the little one is a peanut or a runt and what they think it's chances of survival are

I think what you call a holland lop is what we call a mini lop. Thanks for letting me know, I was just hoping he was a runt and not a peanut as I know they never survive

I would say no peanuts, the ears and hindquarters look too developed. I do think the one is a runt, as long as he is getting his share of milk he should be fine:) I've never had problems with losing runts In my experiences:)

Thanks for the reply, day two and he was doing really well, nice round belly and I thought he might have a chance but this morning he was not looking good at all wrinkly tummy and not as active as the day before, I might try and give him an extra feed or two for a couple of days and see how he goes.

We had a runt once and we took the mom and baby and had the baby get milk without everyone else hogging the mom . Try that for the runt :)

I have updated in another thread but thought I would update here too, all the kits are doing great and are now 13 days old, the runt is alive and healthy and all of them have opened their eyes except the runt who still has a bit of a squint but I can see them opening so that's good
