Sadly the little girl did not make it. The vet did confirm she did indeed brake her back :( Not sure how it happened but i feel terrible. I moved her sister with another litter so she doesn't stress about being alone. I have been raising rabbits about 8 years and have never had this happen.
I have a 3 month old baby who hurt her back. Found her Saturday night, and got her into the vet this morning. We did not do a X- ray but will be doing one tomorrow. She said she can feel a dip in the spine. She gave her a shot of steroids. And said if its going to help it will with in 24 hours...
Her ears are def long and thin. You want more of a short round ear. Her head looks decent. I would give her until she is 6-8 months old to shed out if she does not shed out i wouldn't breed her. If she sheds out she could be a nice brood doe, if matched with a nice solid color buck.
I have a doe who has to have oxy on day 31 every time. Or she WILL go as long as you let her. I have also had c- sections usually they only need a c - section when their is a stuck baby and they are pushing, pushing, pushing but nothing happens. C- sections can cost 600.00 +++. 600.00 being on...
Let the babies out to play today. They were all super happy :) Had more pet quality this round then I would prefer, but also had some really nice ones too!
I wouldnt treat them unless their is a reason to. Treating them before they have it will not do prevent it from coming. Only treat it the moment it starts so it does not get worse.
What is the average weight for a 6 week old holland? I have a little doe i pretty much hand fed and had a rough start she is the only survivor from a c-section. She was 6 weeks yesterday and weighs 15 ounces today. She feels a nice weight, just seems tiny!
Today was day 32 for both. So we gave them oxy. The Holland had 2 giant babies and the lionhead had what looked like a peanut. How long should i give these girls before we try again? Just not sure whats going on :( Have never had anything like this happen in the 6 years i have been breeding.
