    Gabapentin for arthritis

My Dandelion is 11.4 years old and just started to have trouble with his back leg. I took him to the vet and he has been on Gabapentin for about a week. Has anyone had any experience with this medication for their rabbits arthritis? I read on MediRabbit.com that it sometimes leads to serious...

    Sneezing not responding to treatment

My bunny started out just sneezing but it turned into pneumonia. They tried everything but the one antibiotic that really started to get him back to normal was Azithromycin.

    Goodbye, my sweet Flash

We adopted Flash from the rabbit rescue we volunteer at on October 13, 2015. Someone had abandoned him out in the wild and he was a mess when he got to the rescue. We have no idea how long he was out there but we fell in love right away. He was super sassy and such a joy to have in our lives. I...

    Minerals in kidneys?

Not sure why he developed the issue. I adopted him from a rescue 2 years ago. The vet I take him to is the same one he went to while at the rescue but she didn't have any x-rays from the past to see if it was an older problem. I believe he is almost 8 now. He gets all the hay he wants and we...

    Sneezing fit

It could just be he got some dust in his nose but if it continues over the next couple of days I would take him to the vet. My bunny began sneezing with no discharge and was acting normal in every way in November 2015 then he started making a gurgle congested sound when I picked him up in...

    help with destructive buns

We use plastic baby gates that connect together. When we let them out in a room we put them against the wall and block the door off with one. This has worked greatly. All of my rabbits, with exception of two of my girls, are neutered and spayed and its the ones who are fixed that are the most...

    Barium Swallow

He didn't have a diaphragmatic hernia. It ended up being a collapsed lung. But we got him through it and he is perfectly healthy now and his lung has re-inflated.

    Minerals in kidneys?

I talked with the vet last night and one Yub Nub's kidneys is completely calcified and non-functioning. His other kidney is doing all the work and he is fine. So I was panicking for nothing.

    Minerals in kidneys?

My rabbit, Yub Nub, is at the vet today for laser therapy for his leg. They took x-rays and a vet tech just called me and said he had a lot of minerals in his kidneys. I'm not sure what that means. I tried to ask her but she said the vet would talk to me when I got there to pick him up around 5...

    Meds for Pneumonia

UPDATE! Pumpkin is still on the meds but he is doing great! His breathing is so much better. He will go for another X-ray in a couple of weeks and we will see if his lung re-inflated which I'm sure it has because he is having no trouble breathing. 🐇🐰😃

    Meds for Pneumonia

My vet didn't think he needed nebulizing at this time. She did did give Azithromycin in liquid form to be given orally. I haven't given it to him yet but she also gave him Trimthoprim/Sulfa. Why can you not give Azithromycin orally? I've seen on MediRabbit.com, Rabbit.org/health/antibiotic...

    Meds for Pneumonia

Pumpkin has been on Lasix and Enroflaxin since April 25 for pneumonia. His sneezing and coughing had decreased but the last couple of days it has started to be a little bit more than it has been and it looks like he is breathing a little bit harder. What are other antibiotics that are safe for...
