Help!! No more greens or alfalfa pellets!?

We discovered our bun was sitting on smooshy poops as well, because they were all squished and dry and matted into the fur on his back end! After a couple of good butt washes, we eliminated pellets completely and went with a hay/water only diet for a while and it seemed to help eliminate the...

Frustrated Bunny owner ready to give up!

Sorry you both are going through all this. I understand your perspective about not wanting to alter what a creature was born with. However when it comes to pets, it's actually in their best interest. Without spay/neuter the dog/cat population explodes, increases disease among them, and the...

Another poopy butt question, though a bit different than others...

I do realize that there is no shortage of these poopy butt posts, and I found about 100 of them before posting here. Our issue does not fit in ANY of the others that I read about. Every single poopy butt story I read resulted from diet. Either too high of a carbohydrate diet, too much fruit...

Bunny has these specks on his fur

At first glance it looks like flea dirt. I've seen it on my cats every time they go through a round of fleas. It wouldn't be moving though. :\

    Flowers as food?

We occasionally give our bun dandelions (and their greens) from our untreated yard (no chemicals) as a treat. I've found those to be ok. It would be good to know what flowers your bun was eating.

Do you give your adult buns pellets?

I give 1/4 C of pellets to my adult bun, with unlimited hay. I have two little kids, so I don't have time to shop for fresh veggies daily (it's hard enough to keep salad stuff in the house for the humans in the days of COVID-19). However, we do offer treats a few times a month. A couple bites of...

    Questions about checkups?

That is a fantastic deal! I believe we get shortchanged here in the U.S. on people's health care AND pet health care! My vet charges $45 just to walk in the door (for any animal). A fecal, flea treatment, etc cost more. Also, even though she is the only "exotic pets" vet in our town, she has to...

    Here's a helpful rabbit manual

What is truly horrible is if someone actually thinks this is an official guideline. Not to mention, if not for the QR Code, it looks like it was created in 1985.

    Litterbox with wire floor

HAH! I would not feel bad at ALL! For everything I've tried, and everything I've heard/read, they LOVE sitting in their "business" as much as I love snuggling on the couch! :D It's just one of those little rabbit quirks, they have no problem at all making a home - or a bed - of their litter boxes.

    Litterbox with wire floor

We used to use one of those corner litter boxes, as that's what they used where I bought him. Cinnabun soon grew too big for it (bless his heart, he kept trying to squat in that thing), so I got him a bigger box and used both for a good while. Eventually I got tired of cleaning two litter pans...

    Please help me

I don't have any feedback on the sexing of the buns as we struggled with that too. Our "rabbit-savvy" vets around here are pathetic so that in itself is a challenge. We had to drive 90 minutes to get our "female" bun spayed, to find out that "he" would instead be neutered. Yes, we had the sex...

    Bunny floors

That's interesting that you mention the horse stall mats, I was looking at those today. I did end up getting the Needlebond, which I found was softer than the rubber mats I was looking at! I also liked the idea of seagrass, but I was thinking that the more texture something has, the more...

Is a gravity water feeder with a carbon filter safe for bunnies?

I would think any water fit for human consumption is ok for buns. If you have any doubt, you can always give them the bottled purified water (that's what I personally drink, but NOT spring water. That is missing essential nutrients that other waters include).

    Bunny floors

I was so happy to have finally put together an open-air indoor pen for Cinnabun from sections of pet cage and NIC that now takes up just about 1/3 of my living room. lol The dangers of free-roaming far outweigh the benefits in my house, so other than the daily bouncing around the house with my...

Is a gravity water feeder with a carbon filter safe for bunnies?

Your link doesn't work, but I know what kind of dispenser you're talking about. I got tired of the tipped over bowls too (yes, even the heavy ceramic and stoneware ones) and bought a gravity water feeder and it's been awesome. The only thing I usually have to look out for is the hair and hay...
